Will Mecha Break beta progress carry over? Players were hoping to import old characters
Have you found out that your progress in Mecha Break didn't carry over from its beta? You are not the only one who lost their character. Here you will find an official information from the devs about this matter.

Fans of mechs can’t complain lately when it comes to the number of games including those astonishing giant robo-exoskeletons. MechWarrior 5 Clans, Hawken Reborn, Steel Hunters and, of course, Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon, to name a few. Additionally, after very popular beta period, Mecha Break is finally released. Despite impressive concurrent number of players (via SteamDB), this free-to-play title is met with rather tepid reviews from players. The biggest complaint is that this production has a very predatory monetization system. However, that’s not the only plea, as we can also see players throwing rocks at anticheat solution. Some people are also mentioning loss of progression from Mecha Break’s beta days. Does it really not carry over? What’s the developers’ stand on this matter? Let’s find out.
Does Mecha Break allow to carry over progress from beta?
Have you ever got invested in a game a lot only to find out that the progress will be unexpectedly wiped out at some point? The thought of hours of persistent work going down the drain is all but pleasant. This is the situation that many players of Mecha Break face with the full release of the title. If you have also hoped that there will be an option to carry over your progress from the beta period to 1.0 version, unfortunately you have to prepare for the worst.
Yes, the sad truth is that the creators have decided to completely wipe out players’ progression with the official launch of Mecha Break. This has not only been confirmed by the game’s official Discord server moderator, but also by the developers themselves back in March. Since the title is PvP focused, this decision is understandable. It would be unfair if some of the fans had an easier/better start.
There is another side to this coin, though. There are players who have noticed a degradation when it comes to character customization options. They claim that suddenly it is impossible to even recreate the original look of their avatars. This is also tied to the already mentioned monetization system of Mecha Break, as some of the customization options are hidden behind premium currency.
One way or another, we have to remember that Mecha Break is a free-to-play title that needs to earn money in order to thrive so that the developers can deliver more and more content while keeping the servers alive. If you are still unhappy with that decision, you should make your voice heard on the aforementioned Discord server. Good luck!
