As part of the 15th anniversary celebrations of PlayStation Plus, Sony has released a new trial version for its subscribers.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has raised the prices of games and add-ons in the digital PlayStation Store in selected regions, including Brazil and Turkey.

Here are some examples confirming the increase in Brazil (in Brazilian Real):

  1. The Outer Worlds 2 - R$399.90 › R$455.90
  2. Silent Hill f - R$349.90 › R$399.90
  3. Ninja Gaiden 4 - R$349.90 › R$399.90
  4. Hell is Us - R$299.90 › R$339.90
  5. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach - R$ 349.90 › R$ 399.90
  6. Astro Bot - R$299.90 › R$ 339.90

According to the Brazilian website gamevicio (via VideoGamer), the price hikes in the country happened a few months earlier than expected. In an official statement, Sony explains the decision with "difficult market conditions, including currency fluctuations" and adds that prices are set regionally based on the current economic situation.

Price increases in the store are happening after previous price rises for the PlayStation Plus subscription, which affected countries like Turkey, Canada, and Australia. Additionally, SIE's CEO, Hideaki Nishino, stated that the company intends to continue "maximizing profitability," pointing to the growing popularity of more expensive subscription tiers.

This is interpreted as a signal that in the future, there may be further increases, both in the PS Store and in PS Plus.
