The Ace Combat series of flight simulation games is celebrating its 30th anniversary. On this occasion, the publisher Bandai Namco released a special video summarizing three decades of the franchise's existence. The anniversary also became an opportunity to convey an important message to the fans of the series.

In the video material, the director and developer of the series, Kazutoki Kono, confirmed that work on the eighth installment of the series is underway and is essentially entering the main stage.

Now we are ready. Everything is in its place. It's time to take to the air again - higher and higher.

At this moment, no additional details about Ace Combat 8 have been revealed, such as the release date or target platforms. The director's words, however, indicate that after years of preparation, the team is ready to start a new stage in the series' history. It's been 6 years since the release of the previous game, AC7: Skies Unknown.

Three years ago, there were changes in the organization at Bandai Namco and Project Aces studio. According to unofficial reports from two years ago, the eighth installment was supposed to hit the market between 2025 and 2028.
