“This is really embarrassing.” Ben Affleck is disappointed with his kiss from $12M movie, which he called an “unconvincing job”
Ben Affleck is disappointed with his own performance in a film that helped him at the beginning of his career and would gladly try harder if given a second chance.

Ben Affleck has a variety of productions to his credit – those less and more successful. The actor has been in show business for years, so it's no surprise that he has such a diverse filmography in this regard, which includes one film that Ben Affleck is not happy with because of his own performance.
Specifically, he is disappointed with one scene from Chasing Amy, a movie that helped him early in his career, where the actor kissed Jason Lee. During an interview with GQ, Affleck pointed out how this film showed the nuances of love and friendship between men, and how these men still feel social and personal discomfort. With Chasing Amy, the actor struggled with his own “internalized homophobia,” trying to do his best in a kissing scene with Jason Lee.
Looking back on it, Affleck said he did an “unconvincing job” and feels some disappointment with what he showed in Chasing Amy at the time.
I found myself having to challenge my own kind of internalized homophobia cause. I found it so difficult to kiss Jason and I thought like this is really embarrassing. Like I, you know, this is clearly some internalized thing because why should that be a difficult thing to do for me? And I thought, I still think I did a s**tty and unconvincing job of it and feel very disappointed by that and I would love the chance to do better at that.
Disappointed with himself, the actor additionally expressed a desire to do it better. He admitted that if he had another chance, he would try to do better than he did in the 1997 hit, which earned $12 million at the box office (via Box Office Mojo).
