Release Date: July 10, 2025
A sequel to the 2024 game, dedicated to recreating American college football. EA Sports College Football 26 is based on the same ideas as the previous title. The list of improvements includes behaviors of computer-controlled players, plays and functions. The game is also full of modes & official licences.
Until 2013, EA Sports was developing its NCAA Football series, dedicated to the theme of American college football. After the premiere of NCAA Football 14, the series was put "on the shelf". This is when the publisher focused on the development of the thematically related Madden NFL brand. In 2024, the company decided to return to college competitions, releasing EA Sports College Football 25. This started a new brand, and a year later it saw the sequel described here, titled EA Sports College Football 26.
Similar to the previous game under this banner, in EA Sports College Football 26 we participate in college football matches. All matters related to leading the team to victory rest on our shoulders. We are involved in recruiting players, scheduling their training plans, taking care of their health, and finally determining the line-ups and tactics for the upcoming matches.
The Stadium Pulse mechanics also return here. Playing on our home field gives us an advantage over opponents. When being "away", we have to deal with difficulties, such as intense camera shaking or clock distortions. The higher the stakes of a given match, the more the pressure of playing as a guest gets to us.
While working on the game, the developers focused on artificial intelligence. They also allowed to dynamically adjust the plays (of which there are over 2800), blocking and coverage were improved, and new features such as dynamic changes or custom zones were introduced.
The game is based on official licenses, which is why it features 10 thousand real players and over 300 trainers. Among the latter, we will find Ryan Day, Kirby Smart, or Dan Lanning, each of whom has their own distinctive style of play and strategy for upcoming matches. The same applies to competitors who represent various archetypes and possess specific skills.
The key to success is to assemble a team that matches our idea for the game, whose members complement each other.
We can play EA Sports College Football 26 alone or in multiplayer mode (via the Internet or locally). The most popular modes in the game are Dynasty (where we become a coach and lead a team to victory), Road to Glory (allowing us to follow the career of a self-created player), and also Ultimate Team (where we draw card packs and build our dream team and compete with other teams).
