Players of Escape From Tarkov are about to experience one last wipe before the full version of the game is released.

You might not remember, but soon it will be 9 years since the first alpha tests and almost 8 since the start of early access/beta tests of the unusual online shooter from Battlestate Games studio. After this anniversary, EfT will finally make its full launch on the market: first on the developer's official website, and then on Steam.

Of course, during this time, the game has undergone big changes, often associated with the so-called wipe—the clearing of players' progress, their equipment, etc. Usually, users don't appreciate something like that, even if they understand the need for such a procedure.

Fortunately, it seems that fans will only lose their in-game possessions one more time. Nikita Buyanov, the COO of Battlestate Games, confirmed another "wipe" before the release of version 1.0 of Escape From Tarkov (via X / Reddit / Insider Gaming).

One or two "cleaning"?

The dev didn't provide any additional details, but it's worth mentioning that the studio previously confirmed a separate, first-ever "wipe" of progress in PvE mode for the release of Escape from Tarkov 1.0. Its aim is to ensure that all players face the challenges of EfT at the same level.

It's not clear if Bujanow's post refers to this specific move or if he meant a separate "wipe" before the full game debut. Fans seem to be betting on the latter, and some players even interpret this as confirmation of the game's release delay. Information from April suggested the launch of the 1.0 update no earlier than in September.

Some players associate the new developer's post with the "big event" that was announced for August 2025. Perhaps this event will lead to a wipe - maybe its finale will be a nuclear explosion or another event that will justify it? This is just speculation, but Bujanow's post seems to be aimed at building hype before the wipe, whatever form it may take.
