Death Stranding 2: Can you go back to Mexico?
There are two main regions available in Death Stranding 2: Mexico and Australia. From this guide page, you will learn how to return to the first region once you reach the southern continent.

Mexico, the first region in DS2, serves as a tutorial location. This does not mean, however, that there are no interesting activities there. On this page, you will learn how to return to the first map in the game and in more than one way. Thanks to our tips you will be able to perform all the side activities.
How to get back to Mexico?
While completing order no. 9, your task will be to go through a mysterious Plate Gate that will take you to distant Australia. The game will continue on the southern continent. This does not mean, however, that you will not be able to return to North America.
The easiest way to return to Mexico is to go through the Plate Gate again. Step through the portal in southwestern Australia, and after a short animation you'll find yourself back on the snowy peak in Mexico. You can use the passage as you wish, at almost any time.
The gates, however, are quite inconvenient because they are located far from other centers of civilization. It takes a lot of time to get to a Gate. As you progress through the story, you will unlock a faster option.
Once you unlock the fast travel mechanic aboard the DHV Magellan, you will be able to quickly travel between safe havens in both regions. When selecting a course, simply press L1 or R1 and the map will switch between the two locations. You can find more information about fast travel on the Fast travel guide page.
