How to unlock Lagiacrus quest in MH Wilds and fight the new underwater opponent
Do you have problems with starting the Lagiacrus quest in Monster Hunter Wilds? A lot of fans face the same issue. Here you will learn how to hunt down the Lord of the Seas.

Despite being the fastest-selling game in Capcom’s history, Monster Hunter: Wilds undeniably has some serious issues. Its reception has changed dramatically from being universally praised by both, players and critics alike, to hanging on a verge of a scandal, where the latest reviews on Steam categorize the game as “Overwhelmingly negative.” To regain fans’ trust, the developers are providing us with new content. However, it also poses problems, as a lot of people are confused how to access it. Namely, how to get to the freshly added boss – Lagiacrus. If you are also unsure how to find its nesting grounds, here you will find the required information.
How to start the Lagiacrus quest in MH Wilds
It seems that the MH Wilds community reached its tipping point and can’t put up with the issues that the game poses. Mostly, it comes down to optimization problems on PC, but also minor inconsistencies like difficulties with uninstalling weighty hi-res texture packs. Capcom is trying to make up for it by releasing new patches, and as a part of the most recent one, the Lagiacrus quest was added. However, many fans are unsure how to even start it, so we come with help to clear up that matter.
It is not surprising that some players face a real challenge with even trigger the Lagiacrus mission, as it has a couple requirements. To even begin to think about starting the task, you will need to:
- Have your hunter with rank 31 or higher,
- Complete “A World Turned Upside Down” main story quest,
- Complete “Forest Doshaguma” side quest.
The last point on the list is a mission given by Erik in the Scarlet Forest. And this very character is also responsible for starting the Lagiacrus hunt in “Extra Mission 2: Trembling Blue Currents.” It is very important that once you finish the “Forest Doshaguma” quest, pass time or leave and reenter the area for it to reload. Without doing it, the mission will be inaccessible.
While it isn’t very hard to do, it can be unclear what is needed to start the new objective. Let’s hope that the rewards will be worth it, as some of the fans show contempt for the high-level gear in favor of fashion. Some disdain the game (and probably themselves too) that much, that they install ungodly mods that can be very well a nightmare fuel. Regardless of what type of player you are, let’s hope that now you will be able to hunt down the “Lord of the Seas.” Good luck!
