Death Stranding 2 offers an offline mode that allows you to enjoy the game without an Internet connection. On this guide page you will learn how to enable the offline mode and what it involves.

How to enable the offline mode?

To enable offline mode, you must go to Options in the game menu, then Game Settings category, and then disable the Log in at launch option. After restarting the game and loading a save, the offline mode should be enabled. You can also check the mode you're playing in by opening the map - it should say "offline" in the upper right corner.

What does the offline mode involve?

Playing offline involves disabling online features, which means that any structures, vehicles, and items such as ladders that have been placed in the game world by other players will not appear for you, which can make exploration more difficult. You will also no longer find cargo abandoned by other players.

Of course, this works both ways, so any cargo that you drop and structures you place while playing offline will not appear to other players while exploring.

In offline mode, you will also not be able to complete Aid Requests placed by other players nor will you be able to start them yourself. Only those ordered by NPCs will be available.
