You will face the second boss in Death Stranding 2 during main order No. 12. Once you reach the F1 area, you'll face off against a mysterious giant mech resembling a robotic octopus. On this page of the guide we have described how to prepare for the fight and how to defeat the boss.

How to prepare for the battle with the mysterious giant mech?
Before you can start the boss fight, you first need to reach F1. We recommend taking a Tri-Cruiser with you, on which you can store all unnecessary items. The vehicle will disappear for the duration of the fight and reappear after defeating the boss, so you won't lose any cargo. We personally recommend equipping yourself with:
- Two shotguns,
- an assault rifle,
- a grenade pistol,
- At least two sets of MP grenades,
- Several blood bags.
This time the pool of tar that the fight takes place in is shallow, so you can move more easily. Picking up new weapons after running out of ammo is therefore much easier than during the first boss fight.
How to defeat the mysterious giant mech?
You can damage the robotic octopus in two ways. You can throw MP grenades at it or destroy its weak points with your guns. When the boss is far away or you don't have a direct line of fire at it, use grenades. Once it stands still, try to destroy one of the orange weak points on its tentacles or head. The shotgun is perfect for this - the boss will usually stay close to you, so just a few shots will be enough to destroy its weak point.
The octopus is very mobile, so you won't be able to keep your distance at all times. Its most common attack is a vertical tentacle swing (from above or below), which you have to dodge to the side. After the attack, the boss sits still for a moment - this is the perfect opportunity to approach the tentacles and destroy one of the weak points.
Occasionally the boss will also try to crush you with its backside. Just like before, after attacking it waits for a moment before getting up. This is your opportunity to destroy one of the weak points on its abdomen.
Watch out for the sweeping, horizontal tentacle swings. You can avoid them by moving away from the boss. Then use an assault rifle and shoot at the enemy's central eye - this weak point is indestructible, but you still deal extra damage to it. Don't bother trying to destroy weak points with grenades, only bullets can do that.
Once the boss stands up on its tentacles, it can perform two kinds of attacks - the usual vertical strikes if you are in front of it or stomping if you are to its side. Dodge aside when it strikes you with tentacles and backwards when it stomps.
The boss's most dangerous attack occurs when it stands up on two tentacles, lifting the rest up and activating its blades. The mech will then charge towards you like a giant drill. You'll need to precisely dodge to the side to avoid this devastating, accurate, yet narrow attack. After the drill, the boss has to wait a bit longer than usual, so try to destroy at least one weak point on its tentacle.
In the second half of the fight watch out especially for the backside slam. After each slam its backside will now detach, revealing another weak point. Destroying it deals lots of damage. Shoot grenades at the enemy and destroy weak points until it falls. After that interact with the F1 terminal to complete the order.
