Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is another production where fans themselves had to add a certain significant element missing in the official version of the game.

Not every title is a perfect fit for every player, even with all the possible upgrades or assists. In FromSoftware games, it's futile to look for difficulty levels, in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, you may run out of schnapps (read: unlimited game save), and in the hit from the French studio Sandfall Interactive, there is no minimap at all.

Of course, it's not that the devs forgot about this or that function. In the case of Expedition 33, the developers made it clear: players are supposed to feel like explorers independently exploring unknown places. According to the creators, adding a minimap would make players rely on it instead of exploring the game world on their own. This also had a plot justification: since the characters were visiting unexplored locations, the presence of a map with markers would be absurd.

However, such explanations, even if many players agree with them, are not enough to convince those demanding the missing feature. The modders came to help, as always. A new mod called Minimap has been added to Nexus Mods for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

To use this help, you need one of two fan-made "loaders" for the modification and to unpack the mod files into the appropriate folder. The minimap itself is simple, but it does its job, although you can already see people complaining that such a feature ruins the game.

This is not the only improvement developed by the modders. Fans also tackled, among other things, the game's visual design, DLSS 4 technology support, and a 30 FPS limit.
