Blizzard just announced the 9th season of Diablo IV and shared all the new updates in detail. Sins of the Horadrim will start in less than a week, i.e. July 1st. Below you can watch the latest trailer.

New quests

The main quest line in the upcoming season will take us to Kerigaru, where we will meet the Druid Bryona. She must face the consequences of decisions made by Donan, a Horadrim responsible for imprisoning Astarot. The demon is a threat again, and it's up to the player to find and cleanse the bloody relics before they fall into enemy hands.

Horadric Spells

Blizzard has prepared powerful Horadric spells for assistance, which we will acquire as part of seasonal activities. They consist of three elements: catalyst, infusion, and arcane. The fun part is figuring out how to use them to match your playing style.

Horadric Strongroom

Besides, we will be able to buff spells using special jewels, which we will unlock by passing through the Horadric Strongroom. These are instances that we may encounter in the Nightmare Dungeons. Inside, we will find pillars that activate the ritual, after which we will be able to choose from several statues, which influence the rules prevailing in the Strongroom.

The fight will only last 100 seconds - during this time, we will have to kill as many opponents as possible, who increase the Horadric Attunement. When time runs out, the final boss will appear, and after defeating him, we will receive a chest with rewards depending on the Attunement collected.

Escalating Nightmare and refreshed Astaroth

Escalating Nightmare is a new endgame activity, which involves going through a series of three Nightmare Dungeons. Each one will get harder as we progress because the affixes will stack up. Thus, the quality of the awards will also increase.

At the very end, a new variant of Astaroth - a boss known from the campaign - will be waiting.During the fight, he will dismount from the Amalgam, thus creating a two-on-one battle. Some of the Nightmare Dungeon affixes will affect Astaroth's attacks, making him even harder to defeat.

Blizzard also took care of adding a few new affixes to the Nightmare Dungeons.

Rest of new features

The new season couldn't start without additional unique items. This time, Blizzard went all out and added as many as six, one for each class.

There will also be no shortage of new reliquaries, filled with cosmetic items. However, we caution you not to accidentally spend your money on it, as the deceptive interface makes it easy to do so. This is complemented by rewards from seasonal progress and new legendary outfits in the store.

Also, Diablo IV will get native support for DLSS 4 with the multi-frame generation feature, which was previously only available through NVIDIA applications.

Diablo 4, along with the Vessel of Hatred expansion, is available on PC, PS4, PS5, XOne, and XSX/S. The game (without the expansion) can also be played as part of the Game Pass subscription.
