Release Date: June 10, 2025
A third-person action game from Leslie Benzies (co-author of the GTA series), published by IO Interactive. In MindsEye we end up in America in the near future. We play as a former soldier Jacob Diaz with a mysterious implant in his head, taking part in shootouts and car chases, as well as trying to learn about Jacob's past.
MindsEye is an action game developed by Build A Rocket Boy studio, a team that also has the Everywhere project in their portfolio. The production was overseen by Leslie Benzies, previously responsible for the development of the Grand Theft Auto series. The release of this title was handled by the company IO Interactive.
MindsEye transports us to a science fiction world ruled by sinister corporations. Their struggle for control has brought Earth to the brink of collapse. The action of the game takes place in the fictional Redrock in North America, and the main character is Jacob Diaz, a former soldier suffering from amnesia. He has a mysterious neural implant installed in his head - the titular MindsEye.
The protagonist, who occasionally experiences flashbacks from the time spent as a soldier, must discover the truth about himself and unravel the mystery of his past. On the way, Diaz gets drawn into a much larger intrigue, facing the necessity of confronting artificial intelligence and military power.
In MindsEye we watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). The game is mainly about completing missions, during which we most often take part in spectacular shootouts and chases, moving on foot or behind the wheel of a car.
Before the premiere, the creators assured that they made efforts to make the opponents we encounter behave in a realistic way, coordinating attacks, using cover, and taking advantage of numerical superiority. All of this was meant to ensure that on the battlefield, not only a sharp eye or the ability to pull the trigger quickly would matter, but also tactical thinking and the use of the environment.
In addition to firearms, we have a drone on our forearm that allows us not only to assess the situation on the battlefield and develop an effective action plan, but also to attack enemies from the air.

Game Ratings for MindsEye Video Game.
Cloud Dosage: 2.4 / 5 by Jon Scarr
Mindseye sets up a big, cinematic experience with flashy cutscenes and a futuristic world, but it doesn’t come together. The action gets repetitive fast, the world feels empty, and technical issues are hard to ignore. There are moments that show potential, especially in the visuals and voice work. But right now, it’s not something you’ll want to stick with for long.
The Beta Network: 4 / 10 by Anthony Culinas
MindsEye fails with buggy missions, disastrous frame rates and some of the worst AI we’ve seen in modern gaming. You’ll find the odd spark here and there that’s enjoyable, but you shouldn’t have to trudge through layers of cookie-cutter content to be entertained.
But Why Tho?: 3 / 10 by Mick Abrahamson
For those hoping several patches could make MindsEye into a possibly well-executed game, there’s no salvaging the mess left behind in Redrock.
